Condition Monitoring-Motor Testing

MMS provides on site Electric Motor Testing which is now a key part of any successful Predictive Maintenance Program.

Our service is unique as we test motors Static(off line), Dynamic(on line) or a combination of both using PDMA’s MCEMAX system.

What can Electric Motor Testing Do?

The tests are designed to monitor and trend the condition of AC induction, synchronous and wound rotors, as well as DC motors and their circuits.

The tests that can be carried out include: power quality, power circuit, stator, rotor, insulation, and air gap.

Results are instant and therefore any maintenance or repairs required can be planned immediately reducing the chances of failure and reducing costs. Predictive Maintenance rather than total replacement.

Comprehensive static motor testing produces detailed analysis of motor and circuit conditions in as little as three minutes. Analysis of the motor and associated circuits through testing allows for the detection of electrical faults in any one of six fault zones. An excellent and easy condition monitoring tool.

The convenience of dynamic testing collects data without interrupting production processes.
All major potential fault zones can be tested giving valuable information relating to incoming power quality, power circuit condition, stator health, and motor efficiency.

MMS also has the ability to combine the two testing methods. The unique static and dynamic operation enables electrical testing on all motors regardless of size, type, or condition. This flexibility combines the accuracy of motor circuit analysis with the convenience of motor power analysis.

Like all MMS Condition Monitoring Technologies Electrical Motor Testing is priced competitively, is non-intrusive and can provide dramatic cost saving benefits. One of our most useful Predictive Maintenance Tools in a Condition Monitoring Program.

MMS wins contract at Staythorpe Power Station

MMS is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to setup a comprehensive Condition Monitoring system at the new Staythorpe combined-cycle-gas turbine (CCGT) Power Station.

The station, owned by RWE, will have four generating units, which will be successively commissioned by the end of November 2010.

Once completed, the CCGT will have four generating units capable of producing around 1,650MW of electricity – enough to power around two million homes. It will reduce average annual CO2 emissions by up to 7.5 million tonnes compared to an existing coal-fired power station producing the same amount of electricity.
